AIVVASS is an 'Occult Doom / Folk Metal' Solo project from Germany. The founder, composer and songwriter is FRATER THELI and prefers to remain anonymous in public. The first steps of this project started in 2009 with simple folk songs recorded in 2015. The preferred direction and long development towards the music finally took its final course during the Corona epidemic in early 2020 and the first and second EP 'Occult Rites I & II' was written and recorded. Due to the interest and fascination in the field of occultism, FRATER THELI began to read books from the old esoteric-mystical teachings and to interpret them in his songs. Of course, the topic includes much more such as Aleister Crowley & other famous occultists, secret societies, ancient gods, alchemy, astrology and white / black magic. This content is reflected in the songs. The band name AIVVASS corresponds to a spiritual apparition that the British occultist Aleister Crowley appeared in Cairo in 1904. He himself called this Light Being or Guardian Angel 'Aiwass', who dictated to him 'The Book of the Law' or 'Liber Al Vel Vegis' and provoked the new Aeon.
