Gallowstreet is a brass band, although "multiheaded ensemble with horns and percussion that combines brass with hiphop, funk and house" might be a more accurate description for the combo from Amsterdam, The Netherlands, who share a couple of players with Jungle By Night but are very much a band with its own identity.
Biographical information from the band's Facebook page: "Sounds that wouldn't strike a wrong chord in a crowded house festival or a sweaty basement party emanate from the large group of Dutch instrumentalists.
Hailing from the Galgenstraat in Amsterdam ('Gallowstreet' in English) they come forth to trap, ensnare and deliver the hardest-hitting brass noise you've never heard before. Inspired by vibrant Amsterdam nightlife the boys from the Gallowstreet take their cues from DJs and producers to develop a new approach to live music. Their translation of famous house, trap and hip-hop tracks works magic on every crowd."
Their full-length début, Battleplan, was released in June 2016.
