Temnozor (in Russian, Темнозорь) is a slavic folk/pagan black metal band. The group formallly became a band in 1996 in Obninsk, Russia. According to the band's statements on its website, it was formed to express the pride its members had of being Slavic, a true homage to Mother Russia of the olden pagan times. Temnozor started out as a raw black metal band with folk influences, as can be seen most prominently on their first compilation album, "Sorcery of Fragments". Through the years, however, folk music has played an increasingly larger part in their music, which can be heard best on their latest endeavor, "Folkstorm of the Azure Nights" (considered to be their best album to date).
