1. Atropa is Scott Shellhamer. His music is a well-produced combination of live instrumentation and sequenced digital glitch. He combines catchy melodies from guitars and synthesized harmonies with practice-studio-space drums and clickily digital pops and squiggles. Before his geeky turn of wielding the mouse and monitoring with computer speakers alone in his bedroom, he was the drummer for Ghosts and Vodka and Tetsuo and is currently the guitarist for indie/metal band American Heritage. Scott is a self-declared asshole who suffered from complications from a hernia operation and bitter about being burdened with two overpriced computers and a Mazda Miata after the end of his dotcom stint as a graphic artist. He unleashes sarcasm on other humans, especially after they've bought him a few beers. This "fuck it, it's gotta be done" attitude which applies to his work attitude carries over in the music, whether it be the absurd track titles or the fact that a multi instrumentalist such as Scott can make techno/idm tunes that are not quite techno, nor quite idm. 2.
